This is so uttely full of delish it makes me nom nom nom just thinking about it...
Honey Coated Parsnip and Apple Soup (with Parsnip Chrisps)
Serves four, takes roughly around 25 mins to make, 3 points per serving
Down side: the stock has yeast in, the chrisps have yeast in them, the honey aggravates yeast... down side for me :*(
Anyways....
2 parsnips (peeled and cut into small cubes)
2 apples (peeled and cut into small cubes)
1 tbsp runny honey
1 litre of vegetable stock
1 onion (diced)
25g of parsnip chrisps.
1. Place the onions in a pan and cook till golden brown, then add the parsnips and the apples and then the honey. Keep stirring until everything is covered by the honey.
2. Add the stock and bring to the boil. Then place the lid on the pan and simmer for twenty minutes.
3. Blend till smooth. Add lots of black pepper and salt to season and serve with the chrisps on top.
Keeps for a few days.

1. Christmas is coming - you have a christmas do everyweekend - get a buffer zone.
2. You are not going to college this year purely so sep09-jun10 can be a 'find-yourself-again' year.
3. You only need a three pound loss to be in the TWO100's. This is a long-waited thing. This is a good thing.
4. You really need to stick to the food plan to see if you can improve your health!
5. Only six pounds to lose and you've reached your goal of 10lbs loss my xmas (a stone in total)
Reminders:
1. The only way is down!
2. Plan your meals in advance - you know this is the way forward.
3. Okay, you hav a lot on and you're tired, just try for the home-gym once in the next fortnight - ONCE!!!
4. Just because you haven't written the points down, doesn't mean its not going to end up on your ass - this still remains - remember it!
5. Really? Do you want to be in the same place again this new years eve?
6. Keep using the food scales, you're doing well.

Measurements
Four months, I thought I'd take the measurements again (as per July 2009's posting).
So, comparing the two sets of results...
1. BUST: 52" stayed the same
2. CHEST: 46" decreased from 46"
(but had bra on and can't remember if i did that before :S)
3. WAIST: 46.5" decreased from 8"
4. HIPS: 57.5" increased from 56.5"
5. MIDWAY: 52" decreased from 54"
6. LEFT THIGH: 32" decreased from 32.5"
7. LEFT KNEE: 21.5" decreased from 19.5"
(I can't believe I've lost two inches from around my knee?!)
8. LEFT CALF: 18.5" decreased from 19"
9. LEFT UPPER ARM: 17.5" decreased from 18"
10. LEFT FOREARM: 13" increased from 12.5"
So, quite a few decreases which is good to see, apart from hips and forearm - dammit! I'm guessing my Shakira hips are still quite some time away!

Also, just a point I'd like to make...
I'm like a boomerang....
I just keep coming back.
Which, i suppose is a good thing!
Right, anyway, long story short - still loving food, but have been loving the bad food a bit too much, so as ever: weight goes up, self-esteem goes down, clothes prices go up, motivation goes further down...
blah blah blah.
So, to ease me in gently, i thought i would do the things i am grateful for and then start adjusting things, updating weights, goals etc etc
THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR:
1. Friends and Family
This year has been a difficult one at home, there have been so many health scares, so many downs and not enough ups. But we've stuck through it, we're all still here and i am ever so, ever so grateful for that. My friends that don't live so local have been understanding, but I'm thinking i need to be showing my gratitude to them ever more, just so they know.
2. Work
Yeah, I know. Who can honestly say they are grateful for work? Well, in this economic climate i can. Also, the people I work with and the type of work i do is making me look at myself a bit more and making me realise i need to 'adapt and overcome' my issues so i can cope more and so the work-lettuce doesn't get affected by the home-lettuce's strife!
3. Understanding yeast
Random title of the year goes to...
What i mean by this is that i am far from understanding my emotional relationship with food, its long, complicated and painful if I'm going to be entirely honest. But finding out that i have 'candida albicans' has made me walk a step in the right direction. If i ignore this, i get symptoms that amongst others, make me look like a bit of an eczema-child. If i listen to my body, the symptoms go away.
Who'd have thought it? :)
4. Man-lettuce
Firstly for the gratitude bit i guess: I can be mean and stroppy, if i eat too much sugar i act like a hyperactive five-year old, if things are going to pieces i cry, at TOTM i can go somewhat psychopathic for a day or two, i whinge when things aren't going my way (gosh, what a good little lettuce portrait I'm painting) and yet through this all he stands by me. Also, he likes me for who i am, fat bits and all. So i was really nervous about telling him that i wanted to lose some weight (for me, my bank balance and my emotional well being), so i left a food journal about and he's kinda jumped on it. He's doing his own thing, his own meals, his own exercise but it means i don't have to panic and try to explain what I'm cooking or eating. He is utterly understanding. And my rock.
5. My own motivation
Although, again with the being honest, its low and not very mirror friendly. I've come back. I'll persevere.
And then I'll go shopping.
Till later,
A rather bashful soggy lettuce
